سڈنی سے تعلق رکھنے والے ایک آئی ٹی ماہر پال ٹیلر نے ایک ٹوئٹ کے ذریعے مطالبہ کیا کہ اپنے بلّے (کرکٹ بیٹ) دکھا کر فلپ ہیوز کو #putoutyourbats کے ہیش ٹیگ کے ذریعے خراج تحسین پیش کریں۔ ایک ہی دن کے اندر دنیا بھر سے ہزاروں ایسی ٹوئٹس منظرعام پر آئیں جس میں پاکستان، نیوزی لینڈ، انگلستان، آئرلینڈ اور بنگلہ دیش کی پوری کرکٹ ٹیم کے علاوہ سچن تنڈولکر، ویوین رچرڈز اور ایڈم گلکرسٹ جیسے عظیم بلے بازوں سے ساتھی کھلاڑیوں ڈیوڈ وارنر، اسٹیون اسمتھ، گلین میکس ویل اور ناتھن لیون، یہاں تک کہ گوگل آسٹریلیا نے بھی اپنے مرکزی صفحے پر فلپ ہیوز کی یاد میں رکھے بیٹ کی تصویر آویزاں کی۔
